Welcome from David Eva, Chair
Thank you for your interest in this fantastic opportunity to join the Board team at Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust as a Non-Executive Director at a truly transformational time. I hope that you will enjoy finding out more about our vision and this opportunity to play a critical leadership role in improving population health and addressing health inequalities for the communities we serve.
Over the last couple of years, we have completely refreshed our Executive team and are currently implementing a new operating structure which aligns to the collaborative approach we are taking to integrated working with partners across our extensive geography. We have invested significantly in our Mental Health services over the last year and we are committed to gaining parity of esteem for these services within an NHS system which is responding to a continuing growth in demand and to working with our partners and service users and carers to coproduce these services.
Covid-19 has changed the way we deliver our services and has accelerated our collaborative work with partners across the health and care systems in which we operate. We know the pandemic has had a significant impact on the mental and physical wellbeing of our populations which will impact on future demand for our services.
At this critical time, we are looking to appoint a new Non-Executive Director to our Board of Directors to bring an independent perspective in addition to complementary skills and experience. For this Non-Executive position, we require a qualified accountant who will Chair our Audit Committee; an individual who brings board level or equivalent experience of finance, risk and governance and a strong commercial mindset. We welcome fresh thinking, leaders who are innovative, can adapt to changing circumstances and add value in an environment with significant organisational and system complexity. Focused on ensuring high quality services, our Non-Executive Directors promote the highest standards of integrity and corporate governance, ensuring that we hold quality, finance, and operational demands in balance.
We are keen to attract candidates who live in and understand our local communities; those who understand inclusive leadership, demonstrate empathy for the experience of our service users and carers along with an ability to engage with our dedicated staff, Governors and members, keeping the perspective of our patients at the forefront of decision-making. We welcome and encourage applications from candidates from Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic backgrounds, those with disabilities or lived experience who are currently under-represented on our Board.
I hope you are inspired by our vision and values and that you want to find out more about this role. I encourage you to read further on this site and contact Richard Murphy, Emma Pickup or Michelle Shirley, of GatenbySanderson on 07393 013 067 for a discussion about your interest.
I look forward to meeting you during the process.
